Breast Cancer Ribbon Knowledge Base
Breast cancer tattoo ribbon?I'm thinking of getting a breast cancer ribbon... because my aunt has breast cancer, and my 'second mom' died of it and so many are afflicted every year by it... what do you think? and where?
I like the idea of getting it on the base of my neck or my wrist, but only worry that I would have to cover it up on my wrist at work...
Thank you for the idea for the bake sale... I think instead for Christmas instead of gifts I will give $100 in my aunt's name to breast cancer research.
Pink ribbon...breast cancer?I'm 17 and a senior at highschool and a student at the School of Nursing and I'm a huge advocate for Breast Cancer research and support. I'm always wearing my pink ribbon and my pink ribbon necklace and I have many breast cancer/pink ribbon clothing articles. Since it's breast cancer awareness month I tried to see what my community//county and surronding cities are doing to support...........and I found out...completely nothing. At the highschool football games I take donations and sell pink ribbons. I'm getting some pretty positive responses from this but I need more. Does anyone know where I can get free materials for breast cancer awareness other than just printing stuff off the internet?

Pink Ribbon (breast cancer) theme for wedding?I am getting married next summer and would like to have pink as our color in honour of breast cancer awareness. My mom is a survivor and recieved excellent health care during her battle. We would like to make a donation to the Canadian Cancer Society with the money we will recieve as well. I'm looking for ideas on how we can tie this theme into our wedding.....ie: favors, invitations, etc.
Thanks!
Cancer survivor ribbon? Is there a certain color?
I know breast cancer ribbons are Pink.. how about cancer in general?
Breast Cancer Awareness pins?I bought one of those pins that say "Give Strength" and it has the Breast Cancer Awareness ribbon on it. Everytime I wear it, someone asks me if I have breast cancer or have lost someone close to me who had it. The answer is no for both, but the reason I wear it is cause I want to show my support to B.C. research. Why do people assume that I either have it or lost somebody who had it? Is that the real reason people wear those pins + should I stop wearing mine?
Does any one have an idea for a pink ribbon cancer awareness tattoo? My boyfriend's Grandma found out she has breast cancer a week ago. We are all wanting to get a tattoo of the pink ribbon but we were wanting some neat design ideas for it. We plan on getting them and suprising her with them to show her our support. Most tattoo sites now are making you pay and I cannot seem to find any pictures of one. So pictures would be a plus. But if you have an idea please share I can use my imagination and draw it. Thanks.
Where can I find ribbon decals?I'm looking specifically for "support our troops" and the pink breast cancer ribbons. My boyfriend was just shipped off to Iraq and my grandmother was recently diagnosed with breast cancer. I'm wanting to show my support for the troops overseas and breast cancer awareness; I also heard somewhere that proceeds of the pink ribbon go to the Susan G. Komen Foundation and proceeds from the yellow ribbon sales to to families of injured vets. Is there any truth to that?
Where can I find a red-ribbon bumper sticker?I've seen yellow "Support our troops" ribbons on many a car, as well as pink breast cancer ribbons (though the latter I have seen in fewer numbers)
Does anyone know if there exists a red ribbon in the same design I could put on my car (the red for AIDS)? It's a cause that's a bit closer to home for me than our troops or any form of cancer, having lost a friend and loved ones to the disease.
Of course, I don't need to find one, I'd just like to know if they're out there.
How many women will be wearing prostate cancer ribbons for Father's Day?On Mother's Day, many men wore pink ribbons to support the fight and research against breast cancer. Many men marched in breast cancer research funding walks and parades. In fact, the Major League Baseball players (all men) used pink bats and wore pink armbands in the games on Mother's Day to support this very same cause.
Now, how many women will be wearing prostate cancer ribbons for Father's Day?
Let me take an educated guess based on previous patterns, and say: "nowhere near as many men that wore breast cancer awareness ribbons."
Further evidence that women today are far more sexist than men.
Let me also state that there is roughly the same amount of reported cases of prostate cancer per year as there is breast cancer cases (slightly over 200,000 for each) -- the number difference between the two diseases only being a few thousand.

You failed you address the issue or even answer the question. You just wanted to vent because you had no valid rebuttal against my truthful argument.
How do you know not many people view Women's Studies or Yahoo Answers? Yahoo Answers gets advertised on national television. Obviously a great deal of people view this forum. More people read than reply.

You sound like another angry man-hater. Men aren't hiding "prostate" cancer and acting like it doesn't exist. If I was hiding it then I wouldn't have asked this question, genius.
And, my grandfather lived 12 years longer than the age that the average woman in the US lives.

I agree with what you said. I don't think "all women are bad". But I applaud you in having the courage to support this cause. You deserve the utmost respect. We need to spread the awareness around of both breast and prostate cancer.
Why does all the attention go to breast cancer ?It seems to me that there is ALOT of attention on breast cancer. When i go shopping i keep seeing pink ribbons. if toy go to the american cancer society website the first thing you will notice is a pink ribbon with the words In focus:breast cancer. Why? I understand that breast cancer is a horrible disease and i sympathize with anyone who suffers from it but it is the 5th deadliest cancer. That means there are 4 that kill more but get far less attention.
Lung cancer will kill an estimated 170,000 people while breast cancer will kill an estimated 40,000
As a matter of fact a friend from work was just diagnosed luckily they caught it early and will be able to treat with some kind of laser treatment.
Lung cancer is not selfinfliected though cigarete smoke is a huge contributer it is also occuring in nonesmokers at alarming rates
I am not uncaring to breast cancer but nunber wise its not close to the most dangerous why is there less attention on the top killers?
Very unique Breast Cancer t shirt?I saw someone wearing a t shirt that had words all over it. it was white (I think) and it had words like Pink, Cure, Awareness, Ribbon, and other words on it about breast cancer. It was so cute. Has anyone seen these or does anyone know where I can find one? Thanks!!
