Breast Cancer?Oct. is National Breast Cancer Awareness Mo., as you know. As one who had breast cancer, & a mastectomy, 1 yr. ago this mo. I want to caution women against putting off mammograms, & self checks. Millions of women have had or have breast cancer. What advise would give someone about the importance of testing? What is your story? Mine is the radiologist wanted me to wait 6 mo because the tumor was small. get this, to see if it grew. I refused to wait. She didn't know if it was cancer or not. Just wait because it's small.? As it turned out, I had the cat scan, biopsy, and mastectomy all in 1 wk. because I had cancer. Last yr, 5 women in my family were diagnosed with breast cancer. Had I waited, who knows. I told that radiologist she had no right telling women to wait. A history begins with 1 person. My advice, DON'T WAIT. What's yours, Thank you soccergi. Your chances of getting breast cancer may be a little higher than someone else. but @ 14, don't worry yourself about it. Live your life good. If you're mother didn't get it, I would say you're pretty safe, but when you reach 40, have that mammogram, OK Alphapoi. Sorry, but a foam bra cannot protect you from breast cancer, nor infections. The cancer is in the milk ducts. An infection would only affect surrounding tissue. Thank you both for your input Roxie-You are so right. Breast Cancer?First, how young have you heard of women getting breast cancer? I think it might be not as common for a 18-29 year old to get breast cancer, than it is for a woman over 30 right? And also, Is it possible to catch somehow breast cancer before the tumor is big enough to tell apart from the normal breast? If you only have a little aching in one spot, a family history of many cancers including breast cancer...is it likely? Just getting opinions, thank you.

Breast Cancer?I'm 17 and a senior at highschool and a student at the School of Nursing and I'm a huge advocate for Breast Cancer research and support. I'm always wearing my pink ribbon and my pink ribbon necklace and I have many breast cancer/pink ribbon clothing articles. Since it's breast cancer awareness month I tried to see what my community//county and surronding cities are doing to support...........and I found out...completely nothing. At the highschool football games I take donations and sell pink ribbons. I'm getting some pretty positive responses from this but I need more. Does anyone know where I can get free materials for breast cancer awareness other than just printing stuff off the internet?

Breast Cancer ?I'm high risk for breast cancer as my sister had it 4 years ago. I don't have a lump in the breast but above the breast in the chest area I'm sore to touch_muscle area. Last time I saw a surgeon about a cyst in the breast__he said if it hurts_don't worry_it's not cancer. I know some people have had cancer in the chest wall__what were your symptons ?

Breast Cancer?!?I'm worried that I have breast cancer... i got checked a couple months ago, the doc. just felt my breast for lumps and he didnt find anything but... a few months ago i noticed my nipple was shaped kinda weird and then yesturday i noticed the same thing. But it doesnt look like that all the time, it comes and goes. I am very worried. Also, I dont really know my biological dad and his family so I dont know if breast cancer runs on his side of the family or not. But on my moms side I dont think it does. Could it be breast cancer? ... I'm 19 and my cup size is 36C if that helps with anything.

Breast cancer?I am curious, my mom was just diagnosed with breast cancer, but it was ONLY in the one lymph node under her arm, that's what the dr. said anyway. Isn't this rare? Shouldn't it have come from somewhere else, like her breast? but the dr. said there are no signs of cancer in her breast. So how is it breast cancer?

Breast Cancer?I am 24 (will be November 9) I have large breasts (DD) (very close to DDD) I started my first menstruation at the age of 9. and well my question is, I have read that women who start (Menstruation) early are more likely to get breast cancer. is this true? should I be worried? Breast Cancer?Breast Cancer? During my last menstral I noticed particular soreness on the side of my breast into my armpit. I checked and found a lump in my breast. I waited a couple weeks and checked again, the lump is still there and the lymph nodes surrounding the area are swollen. The lump is not sore, but the lymph nodes are very tender. Does anyone have any idea as to what this can be? I have done a mamo and ultrasound, still waiting for results. I was hoping to hear some alternatives (from personal experence) to breast cancer here. Breast cancer???i just realized a few days ago that i have i small lump on my nipple(kinda right under it) . its blue in color and the size of a pencil eraser and im afraid it might be breast cancer. i can move it around a little but it stays in the same place. it doesnt hurt either but makes my breast a little itchy. it might just be a blood vessel but im not sure......oh, im 16 years old.

Breast cancer?Why is breast cancer a hot topic? I think that it is wrong to just sell pins none stop and have talk shows about 24x7x365. We also have walks, talks etc.... yes it is terrible thing but if women take care of them self and do check ups they can be proactive... and save themselfs.... how about diseases or illnesses that people cant do anything about- like parkinsons, multiple sclerosis, leukimia, Lou gerids etc... how about them? I think Breast cancer is terrible but you have options...other people dont... why dont we focus on disease in general... or is this a fear thing on women...

Breast Cancer?I am really worried right now. For the past few days my breasts have been really sore, and this morning my nipples were swollen and kind of purple. I've heard of a BSE, and to see if maybe they were just growing or something I did one. The part that really scares me is that I found a quarter sized lump in my right breast. Breast Cancer?I'm 16, and about 2 years ago, I had a really hard hit on my right breast. Since then, it seems like it hasn't been growing. My left breast seems to be fine and growing, but not the right one. In addition, just this past month, I noticed a lump in the right breast [the one I bumped] I figured that it was probably because of when I bumped it. But today, it has started to hurt! One night I was up late and on one of those late night TV secials, there was a doctor who said it is ecause of women's deoderant. Deoderant is now antiperspirant meaning the sweat doesn't come out. He said so if it doean't come out where will it go? SO all the toxins are going instead of out, in. What do you think about this????
