Breast cancer.....?DO U KNOW ANY FACTS ABOUT BREAST CANCER OR ANYTHING IMPORTANT. IM DOING A PROJECT FOR SCHOOL ABOUT BREAST CANCER AND I WANT O MAKE SURE I HAVE ALL THE INFO. PLEASE ANYTHING U KNOW. THANKS
Who is tired of this Breast Cancer Awareness ??I am, the other day I was in Walgreens and they sell countless things for Breast Cancer, They even sell Pink M&M'S for this cancer, So where is the awareness for the men who develop testicle cancer, By the way kills more people in the 15 to 50 year old age group then breast cancer, I think a little more Priority would be fitting on the group that needs the support the most,,,According to the California Cancer Registry, and the American Cancer Societies Cancer Facts and Figures 2004, there were 411 new cases of breast cancer in women 0-50 and 461 new cases of testis in men. Testicular cancer is usually more serious because it is at a more advanced stage when young men finally get it checked. Yet a recorded message while waiting to speak to someone at the American Cancer Society suggest women 20 and over have a mammogram every three years.
My grandmother has breast cancer how to deal?my 90 year old grandmother had a routine check up last month. they found a lump on her breast so they sent her for further testing. last week we found out she in fact has breast cancer. the doctor is talking about removing her breast. she is taking it a lot better then any of us are. she says " well im 90 years old i have never really had any serious illness in my life and i have lived one hell of a life (her words ok), im ok with what has happen to me". she is so brave. i want to be just as brave. i have one of the closest families that i know. my grandparents are over all the time. we all do everything together. when im home that is. im deployed to japan right now and it kills me that i can't be home to spend time with her and my family. im scared im going to get a call you know those calls people pray they will never get. im scared and keeping it all in. i know that not good. but what else can i do?this is just one of the many stressful situations i have to deal with while deployed
i know its good that they caught it however my big thing is at 90 you know what i mean.? i know that life isn't always fair and sometimes you have to open your eyes to reality but all some of us can think is why her why now after all those years of life ...
Im give up on life when knowing that i has a breast cancer...?umm recently i don't feel good about myself. :( i almost give up hope on evrything. i left all my friends just feel like being alone. don't really know how should i couped with it. i've just recover something about me. it makes me so down. umm, i feel ashamed to tell u or anybody else but u know the fact is i have cancer. breast cancer to be more specific.
its so hard to go on with life when knowing that.
Does wearing a bra constantly really cause Breast Cancer?I have read conflicting stories on this subject. I personally wear one 98% of the time. Besides the fact that my breast aren't "droopy" , I believe due to this habit, I don't have Breast problems. I have regular mammos and everything is good. I "heard" that wearing a bra constantly constricts the lymphnodes causing them to "back up" and swell and harden. Possibly causing the dreaded Breast Ca. I work for a Cancer Institute and have been told that there has to be a tremendous amount of pressure on the lymphnodes to cause any of the said effects. I tend to concur on this but was wondering what others have heard and if it is still possible? The upside is that the breasts are firmer from years of wearing a bra constantly even after 3 kids. My oldest is 21. So in 21yrs I have not developed Breast Ca. Has anyone heard of potential danger?
Breast reduction and cancer risk?I read that dense breasts are more likely to form cancer. I know for a fact that mine (D cup) are very dense because I am very skinny and my breasts are not made of fat. I also have a couple other risk factors for breast cancer. THEORETICALLY, if I got a reduction to an A cup, would my risk of cancer be decreased?
Why are many Breast Cancer charities marketed as being ladies-only...isn't that prejudiced?First off I am in no way condemning these charities' work or their efforts to help those affected by breast cancer; I lost my own grandmother to it and feel greatly for anyone affected.
However I must admit I find it almost offensive that many of these charities are almost 'ladies-only'. Why is this? It is a known fact that gentlemen too suffer from breast cancer (albeit a small percentage) and does this ethic not almost exclude them?
Surely something along the lines of Cervical Cancer would be more suited to a ladies-only approach, if indeed a gender-based focus is needed at all? Breast Cancer affects millions and not all of them female.
I'd be interested to hear any thoughts on this, and once more I add that am in no way against these charities' works, they are doing a great job and my heart goes out to anyone with contact of this condition.
Thanks
For example, at work there was a day of raising funds for Breast Cancer awareness that did very well and everyone chipped in, I myself helping to gather donations in memory of the afore-mentioned grandmother. The next day there was to be a 5-mile charity fun-run through the town to raise more funds, but I was told I could not enter myself as I was not a lady.
Are their new treatments these days for breast cancer?I am an almost 39 yr old mother of 3 children. 2 time cancer survivor. 2 different cancers as a matter of fact. I am a fit woman, i'd like to think i take of myself. Anyway, i found a lump in my breast and i am having a mammagram done in a couple days. My biggest fear is that this time i may not be so lucky. I may not beat this if it is cancer. I love life..i love my chidren..i want to see my grandchildren born, ilook foward to the day. I have very long hair, to my waist, i dont want to loose it. So, thats why i have asked, if it is cancer, are their any new meds. that would keep me from loosing my hair, or making me sick..like Chemo would?
Does breast-pumping increase chances of breast cancer?I head from someone who is milking her baby who said that while she is working, her baby is drinking canned milk because she heard that breast-pumping will cause breast cancer. I just need to verify this fact and if anyone could give me a proof of his/her answer, it would be very helpful. Thank you!
Economic impact of breast cancer?I am working on a project for college in which I have to present a powerpoint slide about the economic impact of breast cancer. I am not having much luck at finding any facts or figures. Can anyone come up with something? (a source must be provided). Thanks so much!
Did you know that bras cause breast cancer?Go to Yahoo! and search for "bras cause cancer." You'll find plenty of information.
-Bras cut off circulation in the breasts, keeping toxins from naturally filtering out. Those toxins often cause... you guessed it! Breast cancer.
-Bras increase the temperature of breasts. A warmer environment encourages the growth of cancer cells.
Here's an excerpt:
"A recent study involving 4,700 women found that women who wear a bra more than 12 hours a day increased the risk of getting breast cancer by 21 times. Dr. Douglass notes ominously, "Women who wear a bra 24 hours a day are 125 times as likely to develop cancer as women who don't." In fact, the study found that women who never wore a bra had the same likelihood of getting breast cancer as men, which is rare."
Wearing a bra also causes the ligaments in your breasts to break down, which makes you sag more than if you didn't wear one to begin with. Is it worth your health to be stuck in an uncomfortable garment all day?
"Thanks, but go peddle your myths elsewhere."
Okay, but when you get to have your breasts removed, you'll have no one to blame but yourself.
Connection between Breast Cancer and Diabetes?I have breast cancer (stage 3, invasive). Had the surgery, radiation, and done the chemotherapy (4 rounds AC, 4 rounds taxotere, 18 hercepten ~ I have 5 more herceptin treatments to go). My markers are coming down, slowly but surely. I'm over weight, but not that much. I don't have a family history of diabetes, and have recently been diagnosed with diabetes.
The tests so far have indicated that my pacreas is not making enough insulin. My diet does NOT contain a lot of carbs or sugars, and in fact since I was diagnosed with cancer, my diet has included a lot of organic foods (fruit, veggies & organic meat & chicken). I'm also a positive person. I had some weight loss, especially since radiation ended 4 months ago. The symptoms that prompted the tests for elevated blood sugars, was neuropathy in my feet (usually a later effect of diabetes).
Anyone know about the connection between the cancer and the diabetes? Caused by the chemo perhaps? or just wishful thinking?
What do handle the fact that armpit shaving before 15 years can cause breast cancer?I saw in internet some information that little girls who shave their armpit, especially if they use deodorant with aluminium, have a much more higher risk of breast cancer.
http://www.newscientist.com/article.ns?id=dn4587
http://www.cbsnews.com/htdocs/pdf/KGM_paper.pdf
This risk stays higher than normal until the breast has developed i.e. with 14 or 15 years.
How can I make my girls strong enough to stand mobbing of the armpits-must-be-shaved-clique?
Do Indian doctors have expertise to cure breast cancer without sacrificing the breast?Breast cancer is curable in early stages- that too without sacrificing the breast. But for that one needs to be treated by doctors with considerable expertise & experience and hospitals with state of art facilities for cancer treatment. Big teaching hospitals like Sanjay Gandhi postgraduate institue hospital in Lucknow and All India Institute hospital in New Delhi have all these, and being government hospitals, offer these treatment for heavily subsidized costs. But general public is not so well aware of these facts. As a result, not too many patients avail of these opportunity to recieve the world class treatment available at these hospitals.
How is breast cancer influenced by both genetic and environmental/lifestyle factors? Please help mee! =[?Also.. What are the implications of basing breast cancer research on a population that does not reflect the true mortality rate of breast cancer in women, and what could be done in regards to this matter?
Knowing that-Breast cancer is the second most lethal form of cancer for women and in recent decades has received much needed attention for research. However, many research studies rely on the voluntary participation of women that fit the criteria for being at risk for cacner, who are aware of what researech is being done, and have the means to participate. This creates an inequality in the makeup of participants for research studies.Despite the fact that once diagnosed,African American women are 30% more likely to die from breast cancer than white women, most research studies have a participation rate for African American women of less than 10% Similarly, another group of women that is at high risk of mortality from breast cancer is the low-income group etcPlease help me with this essay!
Why is the federal government (US) spending 7x more on breast cancer research than prostate cancer, despite......the fact that about 9 percent more men in the US develop prostate cancer than women develop breast cancer.
$550 million v. $80 million
http://www.worldnetdaily.com/news/articl...
Likewise, in Australia, breast cancer on average kills 2600 women each year
However,
http://www.prostate.org.au/pcfa-reso...n...
Prostate cancer kills 2,700 Australian men every year.
2600 women v. 2700 men. Yet the Australian Government, in 2004, through the National Health and Medical Research Council, provided $6.9 million in funding for research into breast Cancer. While the Australian Government, through the National Health and Medical Research Council, provided $2.5 million in funding for research into prostate cancer.
$6.9 m for women; $2.5 m for men.
Women receiving 3x more funding than men.
My question is WHY
Are men just not worth as much as women?
Ladies first? But I thought we lived in an age of equality?

Can Breast Cancer cause hair loss before it is diagnosed? My mom has been loosing hair latley, and it could just be my nerves, but there is some trace of breast cancer in my family. She's still young, only 38. I'm just a worried teenage daughter, I'm afraid I might loose her...I don't think she has thought about this fact that it could be something more than just loosing hair, but I just would like to ask the simple question of whether breast cancer can lead to hair loss when it is not yet diagnosed and there is no kemo going on. She has been on a diet, so could that be it?
Please tell me as much as you know.
I'm so worried.
All answers are welcome and valued.
Thank you.
Thanks to you guys who are giving me answers, you've just lifted the weight of the world off my back for the night.
Thank you so much, keep the answers up though, I'm still curious about it all.
Treating Breast Cancer? The most common treatment for breast cancer discovered in its early stages was once removal of the breast. It is now usual to remove only the tumor and nearby lymph nodes, followed by radiation. To study whether these treatments differ in their effectiveness, a medical team examines the records of 25 large hospitals and compares the survival times after surgery of all women who have had either treatment.
(a) What are the explanatory and response variables?
(b) Explain carefully why this study is not an experiment.
(c) Explain why confounding will prevent this study from discovering which treatment is more effective. (The current treatment was in fact recommended after several large randomized comparative experiments.)
Breast cancer patients/survivors - please help with some advice...?We just found out that a close family member has breast cancer - not sure what stage or prognosis yet because she has only had a biopsy and is going through more studies (CAT scan etc. to see if there are any more suspicious spots).
My problem is that I don't know what to say to her - I have been a nurse for a long time and tend to focus totally on the clinical aspect of illness - especially since I've worked in the operating room for so long. I see patients for a few hours while they are asleep, take the best care I can of them, and then rarely see them again.
I don't want to seem callous to her and focus solely on her surgeries (which is obviously my comfort zone) - I'm afraid I'll say something stupid or not say the right thing and just come across as uncaring - when, in fact, I do care a great deal and want to help any way I can.
Any suggestions or advice is greatly appreciated.
For women who have had breast cancer or husbands/boyfriends who are with someone that has it.?I have recently been diagnosed with breast cancer and will undergo a mastectomy. Today I went to the Dr. and was shown pictures of women who have had the proceedure done and I really felt horrible seeing the end result of what the breast looks like after reconstructive surgery.
My question is this: How does it feel to meet someone new and be comfortable with my body when I have this breast that's totally reconstructed and none of it is actually mine? I will have scars on my breast and no nipple for a while. Will a man see me as being attractive after the fact?

This is serious so only serious replies.
What could it be? Breast Cancer? Candida Yeast infection? or What?I nursed my son for 16 months, just weaned a month ago.. During the course of that time a small dark spot (not raised, just flat surface of skin) developed near the aerola of my breast. I thought it was due to his having bit me more than once during the course of weaning, or the fact that my skin around the nipple would often crack, and was always healing or bleeding.. Now a month after I've completely weaned my son off, my nipple and aereola is peeling and dry. The dark spot appears smaller and faded now, but itches like crazy! I've done a full breast examination twice so far and feel nothing different or wierd. So I don't think it's cancer, but I could be wrong. I spoke with a nurse over the phone, she said that it could be candida yeast infection. Does this sound accurate? Does anyone have a clue? I'm waiting for my GYN to call me when they have there systems back up, so far no available appointments till 2 weeks from now. -Extremely Worried-
If only slightly more (relatively speaking) women die of breast cancer than men die of prostate cancer...?... then why is it that government spends almost twice as much funding breast cancer research than prostate cancer research?
And don't tell me that it's because women have two breasts, because it only takes one to kill you. (I wouldn't have to make this demand if it weren't for the fact that I anticipate this very comment.)
Also... do they have a prostate cancer awareness month?
Edit: Actually, they do have a prostate cancer month... just looked it up. Nevermind on that one.
Oh, and I'm not trying to make myself sound like I'm against funding for breast cancer research, I just want to know why prostate cancer research is given the back burner approach.
Although you won't ever catch me wearing pink or eating a pink donut... there are just some lengths I will not go to to support a cause.
Wow! Excellent answer, Panda!
What is causing the high incidence of breast cancer and leukemia in Marin County, CA, USA ?Can you tell me if the high incidence of breast cancer and leukemia in Marin County, CA, USA is concentrated in specific towns/regions and if there are any definitive fact-based conclusions as to what is causing it? I am considering moving there but want to make sure that environmental issues (e.g. water supply, geological makeup, or old military deposits) are not causing these problems?
Breast tenderness?I got my nipples pierced about a month and a half ago and just recently i found i lump in my right breast behind the piercing and its tender when it is pushed on, could this be scar tissue build up from the piercing?
I am going to see the doctor just to make sure that the lump isnt cancerious, but the chance of it being that are slim due to the fact that breast cancer lumps are not painfull when pressed on.
How many women wore Prostate Cancer ribbons on Father's Day?On Mother's Day, many men wore pink ribbons to support the fight and research against breast cancer. Many men marched in breast cancer research-funding walks and parades. Many men joined women in various charity drives for the support of breast cancer research. In fact, the Major League Baseball players (all men) used pink bats and wore pink armbands in the games that Mother's Day to support this very same cause.

Now, how many women wore prostate cancer ribbons for Father's Day?
*crickets*
Further evidence that women today are far more sexist than men.
Let me also state that there is roughly the same amount of reported cases of prostate cancer per year as there is breast cancer cases (slightly over 200,000 for each) -- the number difference between the two diseases only being a few thousand.
How many of you women even know what a Prostate Cancer ribbon looks like? Probably none of you.
Don't worry ladies, I've provided a link: http://www.theribbonlady.com/images/light-blue-layout.jpg
Shivers, you seem angry. I wore breast cancer ribbons on Mother's day and light-blue ribbons on Father's Day.
Also, contrary to what you said, I did provide facts -- one being that there are roughly as many prostate cancer cases each year as there are breast cancer cases.
You say men should say " 'what about me' victim stuff", well, what exactly do you think feminism does constantly, hypocrite? Feminism is inherently a "what about me" victim-mentality movement.
Rio Madeira: Light-blue ribbons and armbands were worn by MLB players on Father's Day, although to my knowledge there were no light-blue bats - indicating that feminist society says we should care more about women.

If this were a women's professional league; pink would be worn on Mother's Day, and Father's Day would be ignored. Thank you feminism.
Carrie: I have never seen the "save the ta-tas" shirt, but if that is true then that is pretty uncouth and unnecessary. Sounds like they're trivializing the importance of it by linking it with sexual pop-culture terminology. But I guess they thought they were being "cute". When I think of something such as "cancer", be it breast cancer or anything, the last thing we should be thinking about is how it's sex-related.
Lee: I know you're a troll, because all of your responses to every question is about how men die and men get diseases. You're either a man posting as a woman, and you want to make women look bad, or this is some kind of S&M fetish to you. Or you're a woman that's just a misandrist.
And I have to correct you -- breast cancer tends to be deadlier than prostate cancer. Prostate cancer patients have about a 95% chance of survival if they treat it.

Smahteepanties: Plenty of people in the medical field wear ribbons. At my local hospital this past Mother's Day, a Breast Cancer Research drive was thrown with people wearing pink t-shirts, including many medical physicians. There are many doctors and nurses that ran in breast cancer research marathons to raise money. Just because they work in the medical field doesn't mean they have to feel "high-and-mighty" as if they don't need to support any cancer charities.
Your choice to not wear ribbons is your own preference, but does not represent the views of all medical workers.
Deirdre: What makes you think that myself and other Men's Rights activists aren't all over it? I've been spreading the word about prostate cancer awareness for the past year or so. Also, you sexist statement that the only way for men to address health issues is with stereotypical macho "posturing" and "bragging" only shows your lack of maturity that you try to conceal behind your thin veil of self-righteousness. It also shows how you poke fun at serious health issues regarding men; only further proving my point of feminist women's indifference to men's health issues.
You really should work on ceasing to project your own immaturity and sexism on to others.
Trinitrotoluene: Yes, women are far more sexist than men. The fact that you think such an idea is far-fetched is in itself a testament to your own sexism and prejudice against men. This is a socialized phenomena -- that we associate sexism with men, just as we associate racism with whites.
Here's a study from Science Daily that showed that women are more prone to being prejudice and sexist against the opposite gender than men:

Breast cancer, nipple discharge?I went to the doctors for nipple discharge (reddish brown). She sent me to my GYN and she did a test on the discharge that proved there was no blood in it. She said that was a good thing coupled with the fact also that my mammogram was clear. She still sent the sample in to cytology just to be sure it had no abnormal cells. Is the chance very high that it will come back negative for abnormal cells or is there still a high chance I will have cancer?
Questions about breast cancer? My aunt was just diagnosed with this disease, and her daughter (my cousin) is having her wedding in January. Any facts or thoughts on this would be appreciated. How long will her hair be gone, will she be in bed long.... Thanks.
Sorry to hear the, uncle billy. Anyways, I'm not worried about how she looks. Her daughter was looking at it all and making sure it was perfect, and I thought she might have imagined it different. I'm sorry if I come off like a snob, oh wait, that's you. Excuse me for being worried about the welfare of my aunt. Not to mention she doesn't even live in the US. She lives in NZ, and she has always had short hair. I think she is beautiful anyways, hair or not. The whole point is tht I haven't seen her in 3 years and I'm going down to see her in Jan. 07, and I thought she would be a bit shy about it, since she was that type. Stop being such a b*tch, I asked a question about her, not how she looked. I'm worried about her and I'm sorry you think that way. Oh, no, wait, I not sorry.
I have a question about breast cancer detection...?I'm attempting to research additional information online, and through local doctors, but does anyone know the cost of a mammogram? A fine needle aspiration biopsy? A core needle vacuum biopsy? Each chemotherapy treatment? I need figures and facts, and am compiling a fact sheet from it.
Breast Cancer Survior- how to help others after I already helped myself?OK I am a survivor and I want to know, Is there any way to reach out to other survivors. I remember how hard it was for me being so young and having it, and the fact there was really no one out there that could give any solid support. People act like it is something shameful... Any Ideas?
I tried to start a support group but I am only 23 and so people that are older and that go though the same things don't relate, was not very successful
After I became ill with breast cancer and leaving my job of twenty years my marriage is over, what do I do?My husband is an alcoholic but has a good job and makes lots of money. I had a good job but had to retire because of my illness. I only get a tiny pension that will not nearly pay our bills. My husband hates me and has now for a long time, I think that he resents the fact that I can't work and do the things that I used to. I can't say that I like him very much either for all that he has put me through with his verbal abuse while drunk. My problem is I have no savings and cannot pay the bills, I don't want to loose my home and all that I have worked for. You see when he leaves he won't care and I already don't get any money from him and mine is running out. Why does he think he can leave me penniless and let me loose everything. I am to be back in the hospital soon and I think that is when he will clean me out and walk away. what should I do?
First Lady Laura Bush in Saudi Arabia to promote Breat Cancer Awareness?Breast cancer is considered a taboo subject among many in the Saudi society. Many women will not go to a male doctor to get a mammogram. Some women secretly hide the fact that they have breast cancer or will not have a lump in their breast checked out. Some women have died needlessly as a consequence.
Edit: Breast (not Breat)
When the onocologist does blood anaylsis does it show that cancer may be present in the blood work?My mom had breast cancer last year and everything came out fine. Due to the fact that she cancer the dr made her do a pet scan and blood work in Jun 06. Everything also came out fine. Now in Nov 06 she also did blood work and came out fine. Since the week before December my mom started complaining from back pains and she already got the results for that. The cancer has returned. Now, my question is when the oncologist makes you do blood work does it show that there is cancer present or something maybe a larger blood count than usual? I just want to know because it would give me some peace of mind if the cancer started in Dec and not before, meaning we might have catched it on time. She was diagnosed with cancer in bones and liver. I am devasted!
Left Breast Hurts?ok so for about 2 months my breasts has been hurting, both of them, but about 3 weeks ago, my right breast stopped hurting completly and now its only my left breast, it hurts alot, especially when i try to relax thats all i can feel. im 17 and i was afraid for the longest time that i could possibly have breast cancer but ive gotten over that fact and now am tryin to accept that their still growing, but 17..dont they stop growing around my age?! my job involves standing on my feet for 6 hours straight living fairly heavy stuff like 12000 mL of water lol. i dont lift alot, maybe a few a day while im working but i still lift alot of 4 lt waters and big bags of cat litter and dog food and cat food hah yea i work in a grocery store, so ya know!. but could any of this have a connection??! help

Large breast tumor, any similar stories or advice?I have a lipoma (fatty tumor), at least that's what the doc thinks, on my breast. It's rather large & he may not be able to remove, it if that happens he'll have to do a masectomy. It's on my good breast, I've had breast reduction and lost sensitivity in my other breast. I know my breasts don't define who I am as a person, but yet I'm feeling depressed about how my breasts will look & feel. In fact, I'm saddened by it. Luckily I don't have a history of breast cancer in my family & the doc thinks it isn't cancer. I was wandering if anyone else has had a similar experience or if anyone can give some encouragement. I know I'll be fine b/c my father's church & my friends are praying for me. I'm just hoping for some positive feedback. Men feel free to advise as well. My husband & some of my male friends are really loving & supportive and I really feel blessed, but I can't shake this depression. Thanks. 2D
Can some one tell me if this sounds good...its part of a book report? To start with, Breast Cancer: Questions and Answers, answers many questions that young women may have and helps them be more aware of the facts about breast cancer. One fact that a young women can learn from this book is that the number one killer in America for women is breast cancer. Another fact that I learned from this book is, “One in eight women will get breast cancer, but that is not completely accurate…Your risk is now [considering you’re a your women] but it will rise as you age,” (pg. 52, Breast Cancer: Questions and Answers). Questions that is asked often are, “What are the risks?” and “How can the cancer be treated?”; the book answers these questions along with well over 100 others.
Lastly I believe that our school should get the book, Breast Cancer: Questions and Answers, not only because it could be used, for example, a research project in health, but because of that simple fact that young women are not fully aware of all the facts about breast cancer. One thing I learned from the book that I did not know before is that, “Drinking alcohol--beer, wine, or hard liquor--increases the risk of breast cancer, especially for women under the age of thirty,” (pg. 83). Another thing I found is that, “The bruising of a breast does not affect the chances of getting breast cancer,” (pg. 44). But the main reason this is so important, is the reality that almost everyone knows someone that has been diagnosed with this particular type of cancer. Personally, my grandmother has had it, and my great grandmother. Maybe if young women are more alert about the information, then the ratio of 1-8 could become less.
How many women will be wearing prostate cancer ribbons for Father's Day?On Mother's Day, many men wore pink ribbons to support the fight and research against breast cancer. Many men marched in breast cancer research funding walks and parades. In fact, the Major League Baseball players (all men) used pink bats and wore pink armbands in the games on Mother's Day to support this very same cause.
Now, how many women will be wearing prostate cancer ribbons for Father's Day?
Let me take an educated guess based on previous patterns, and say: "nowhere near as many men that wore breast cancer awareness ribbons."
Further evidence that women today are far more sexist than men.
Let me also state that there is roughly the same amount of reported cases of prostate cancer per year as there is breast cancer cases (slightly over 200,000 for each) -- the number difference between the two diseases only being a few thousand.

I agree with what you said. I don't think "all women are bad". But I applaud you in having the courage to support this cause. You deserve the utmost respect. We need to spread the awareness around of both breast and prostate cancer.

You failed you address the issue or even answer the question. You just wanted to vent because you had no valid rebuttal against my truthful argument.
How do you know not many people view Women's Studies or Yahoo Answers? Yahoo Answers gets advertised on national television. Obviously a great deal of people view this forum. More people read than reply.

You sound like another angry man-hater. Men aren't hiding "prostate" cancer and acting like it doesn't exist. If I was hiding it then I wouldn't have asked this question, genius.
And, my grandfather lived 12 years longer than the age that the average woman in the US lives.
What age are you supposed to start doing breast checks?I mean when you self-check at home, like in front of a mirror. What age does a woman need to start doing this?
And do you know any cool facts, like the age range most people find breast cancer? Im still young I just thought I'd ask since I never self-check at home. I've had the pamphlets before but I jsut never do it.
Radiation therapy for Cancer - can one lead a normal life?My MIL had breast cancer and had an operation recently. She has to undergo radiation, chemotherapy and what-not for the next few months. She stays all alone. My husband is her only child. She wants to come over and stay with us during her treatment. Now my husband travels very frequently, so I guess looking after my MIL will be completely my responsibility. I am a bit apprehensive about this. What are the side-effects of radiation? Will she be able to look after herself during her treatment? She is doing fine now, but I dont want her to become bed-ridden one she starts her radiation, that too when my husband is away. So please tell me the facts. Doctors and people who have undergone treatment for cancer, please let me know.
