Breast tenderness?
I got my nipples pierced about a month and a half ago and just recently i found i lump in my right breast behind the piercing and its tender when it is pushed on, could this be scar tissue build up from the piercing?
I am going to see the doctor just to make sure that the lump isnt cancerious, but the chance of it being that are slim due to the fact that breast cancer lumps are not painfull when pressed on.

- Sounds more like MRSA. Getting anything pierced is asking for trouble. At least if you spent the money on booze and cigarettes you would have had some pleasure out of it. Piercing and tattoos, go figure...
- Scar tissue usually doesn't hurt.
Most likely it could be a breast cyst possibly caused by methelaxon (forget spelling) that is found even in decaf coffees, sodas and teas.
Try limiting the use of such beverages and see if this helps after a few days.
Also in the mean time apply some warmish/hot ginger compresses (a washcloth soaked in 3-4 slices of ginger root water) to the area then cover with towel to keep in the heat upon awakening and just before going to bed at night to ease the discomfort. This should help within a few days.
- Question: Do you do monthly breast self examinations? Because if you did you have to compare the previous BSE results from what you did feel now. In most instances, a lump that is cancerous have irregular border, not painfull or tender, it is not movable, presence of dimpling and or secretions from the nipple.. However, since you had a nipple peircing done, this might be from the trauma (might be a blood build up, an infection). Did you experience any fever in the past days? Or this could be just a fibrous tissue. And it is always related to coffee intake (no clear medical explanation yet, help me find one). And in cancer, a tissue that is frequented into trauma (piercing) a normal cell, if subjected to repeated trauma will lead to cell abnormality.....leading to cancer. Best advise...lose the peircing, do a monthly breast self exam and go and see your health care provider ASAP. Prevention is the word.....Mabuhay!
