Breast Cancer awareness month: can men carry a pink thingy on their t-shirt?
My guy freind asked if it was ok for a guy to wear a pink thing [that represents the breast cancer] since he wants to show support for research on breast cancer...is it ok if he wears one pink?
Public Comments
- Yes I have seen numerous men wearing them in a breast cancer function also don't forget men also can have the disease yes its not as likely but I have met a male breast cancer survivor.
- ...why certainly...that's cool to see men support that cause...did you know men get breast cancer also:?
- Absolutetly. My husband better not walk out the door without one on:)
- Absolutely! I have a pink ribbon on my truck (my wife got it for me), and I have the same magnet on my toolbox at work. I also wear a small ribbon on my uniform at work, and have one on my jacket (for when I am not working).
I have heard guys say that wearing a pink ribbon is gay, but as long as it isn't rainbow colored I couldn't care less. Not only do men and women need to stand up for one another and support oneanother, but guys need to get over themselves and stop worrying about what others think so much.
- Of course it is. He should be proud that he's supporting such a worthy cause
- it's more than ok, it's a statement all to his credit
- A man who can proudly wear pink displays his love and concern for the women in his life. It also should reassure his girlfriend of his comfort level with himself. Real men do wear pink and eat quiche!
- YES MAN CAN WEAR THE PINK RIBBON.. THERE'S NOTHING TO BE ASHAMED OF... ACTUALLY ITS A RARE CASE BUT MAN CAN SUFFER FOR BREAST CANCER AS WELL...... MAN ALSO CARRY THE SAME GLANDS THAT WOMEN HAVE THE ONLY DIFFERENCE IS THAT DURING PUBERTY IN MAN HORMONES ARE RELEASE.... GIVING THE MALE FIGURE FORM..... BUT THE GLANDS ARE STILL THERE....
- The thingy is called a ribbon and YES, it is ok. Actually, us survivors of breast cancer find it very touching to see a man supporting THE CURE and awareness. So please, thank him from me for his support.
