  1. not sure but i do know we have pink tim tams also .. yummy
  2. Pink for October is an initiative started by Matthew Oliphant, which asks that any sites willing to help make people aware of breast cancer, change their template or layout to include the color pink, so that when visitors view the site, they see that the majority of the site is pink. Then after reading a short amount of information about breast cancer, or being redirected to another site, they are aware of the disease itself.
  3. don't really know who came up with it but i think the pink is to represent the women because 99.99999% of all breast cancer patients are women.. and that .00000000001 percent is men.. why do gay people have the rainbow??
  4. Saw pink light bulbs to support breast cancer the other day. Thought they looked cool. The idea was to make your porch light pink for October.
  5. the woman (Nancy Brinker) who founded the largest foundation for breast cancer awareness in the world-The Susan G. Komen breast cancer foundation, came up with the pink ribbon idea b/c growing up-she was such a tomboy and her older sister Suzy (the one the foundation was setup in honor of), was the girlie girl-always trying to put ribbons and bows in nancy's hair.

when suzy died-nancy decided to form the foundation and use the pink ribbon (like the ones suzy had tried to hard to get nancy to wear) as the symbol for breast cancer awareness:

More than the color for breast cancer awareness, pink represents the promise between two sisters to find a cure for breast cancer. That promise started the Komen Foundation and ignited the passion of millions to create a world without breast cancer. Are you passionate?

i work for banner health in phoenix, az and i will be doing the breast cancer walk this coming sunday. it is one of the largest fundraisers our company supports and it has a HUGE turnout. i attended last year and i've never seen so much pink in one place!! but what an awesome turnout for such a great cause....
