  1. I did a quick search for "breast cancer awareness" and "pink ribbon" sites and got thousands of hits. Many of the sites offer downloadable screensavers and backgrounds for free. But you're not limited to just those freebies. Here's a tip for Windows XP: You can save most pictures or graphics that appear on the internet in your own My Pictures folder. Then, you can use any of those saved images as your desktop. You can also create your own screen saver that will rotate through all of those saved images.

    1. Right click on a picture.
    2. Click "Save picture as..." and a dialog box opens.
    3. Make sure it will be saved in My Pictures.
    4. Give it a name. (You can use the suggested name that appears in the File Name box, or make up your own name like BCA1, BCA2, etc. for Breast Cancer Awareness 1.....)
    5. In the "Save as type" box I'd suggest saving it as JPEG if it's a photo or GIF if it's a drawing. (Those are the best formats should you want to email a copy of the image.)
    6. Click Save. The image is now in My Pictures.

Once you've saved the images, right click a blank portion of your desktop. In the shortcut menu that appears click Properties. A Display Properties dialog box opens with several tabs. Click the Desktop tab and you'll see a section called Background. Scroll through it and you'll see not only the XP provided desktop images, but all your saved images from My Pictures. Click on any one you want and a preview will appear. If you like it, click the Apply button and your desktop will change to that image.

Now click the Screensaver tab and then the down arrow to see the different screensavers. One of the choices is a My Pictures Slideshow. Click on that and the small monitor will show you what it will look like. If you want to see it full screen, press the Preview button. To return to the dialog box press Esc.

One caution. The My Pictures Slideshow will rotate through EVERY image you have saved in My Pictures so if there's something you don't want others to see, you need to remove it from My Pictures. Easiest way to do that is create a separate folder, put your personal pix in it, then drag that folder to your desktop.

I know this is a long post and I apologize. Just thought you might like to experiment and create something truly unique.
