  1. Inflammatory cancer is different than the breast cancers most commonly seen. Some of the signs are dimpling of the breast, an inverted nipple, skin texture like the skin of an orange on the breast, the breast can become hard, red, feel hot. It can literally appear overnight, and it can be missed by a mammo.

If you even suspect that this is what might be going on, PLEASE, GET IT CHECKED! This is a more aggressive type of cancer, so please, don't mess around. And if you don't get answers or get a "let's wait and see", go to another doctor.

Can it be something else? Yes. I had the breast hardness, redness and it felt hot. It turned out to be breast cellulitis. But considering what the other alternative is, please get it checked.
  2. I have never heard of "inflammatory" breast cancer. Breast cancer almost never hurts until the final stages. Inflamations are ususally something else entirely, like infections.

Never try to diagnose yourself. Are you having regular mamograms? That is why I am still alive. The mamogram caught my cancer early enough to be treated. I am a 13 year survivor.
  3. You have probably read all you can on it, but in case you haven't this site may help: http://breastcancer.about.com/od/types/p...

    Good luck
  4. Yes my mother-in-law was told she most likely had it but it turned out to be an inflamation of the milk ducts. Turns out, the two have identical symptoms and you can't tell the difference without a biopsy. We were told that the first doctor should have never told her it was most likely inflammatory breast cancer before she had a biopsy. That was over 30 years ago and she is fine! Good luck hon.
