- In stage 3C breast cancer I can't imagine her oncologist only recommending 1 treatment. Chances are her odds of recurrence are quite high. I had stage 2b BC and did 5 chemo treatments (my dr. wanted me to do at least 6, preferably 8), radiation, 3 mos. of Taxotere chemotherapy, and 6 mos. of Herceptin. I still do monthly zoladex shots and take Arimidex daily. I am now in my 3rd year of remission.
You need to be asking her oncologist about her odds of recurrance - you have not given enough info here for anyone to really give you an answer. Was her bone marrow clear of cancer cells? Was her tumor HER2 positive? What type of chemo did she do? What were her doctor's recommendations? Does she have any other health issues that put her at risk? Was/is she a smoker? Did she take birth control pills or do HRT - if so, for how long? Does she still have a uterus and ovaries? How old is she?
The list of questions goes on . . . there are too many factors involved to be asking this question here. GO TO HER ONCOLOGIST!!! With her kicking and screaming, if need be.
- Stage 11B never heard of the c. also are you saying one time chemo treatment then never finish treatment?
If that is the case, there is no recurrance because the cancer is still there.
