Stage four breast cancer?
Hi I am 14 years old and my mom has stage four breast cancer. She just went for a scan and it has been at a stan still for awhile now. She has little spots around her lungs, but they shrunk with the chemo. So its not big but its still stage four. I heard that she really only has like 5 years to live from some websites. Is this true??? How long could people really live with this. She gets a scan every 3 months and if its active she goes for chemo. It hasnt become active yet. But can someone please give me some more info on it.

- go to this website and contact them. they help people who are going through breast cancer. the organization is called y me. just put in y me.com and it will take you to there website. you can call them 24 hours a day and talk to them about it. they will help you through this as they are me.
- First of all, I'd like to offer my sympathies. This must be a difficult time for you. I know little about cancer stages, although I found this about the classifications of said stages: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Breast_canc...
I unfortunately have no idea what most of that means, but I hope it helps.
- Honey, the only one who can give you accurate information is her doctor.
You may want to go with mom and talk with the doctor about your concerns and questions. He is the only one who can give you the best possible info, to help you understand.
Your a brave young lady! Your mom must be so proud of you!
