Public Comments

  1. Depending on the extent of the disease, treatment will lead to meeting different specialists.
Diagnosis will take you to: Radiologist, pathologist, medical lab tech, general surgeon (or breast surgeon).
Treatment: radio- or medical oncologist, general (breast) surgeon.
If that's all too much, the most important people that would be involved in caring for you and seeing you the most would be the surgeon or oncologist, depending on the mode of treatment, and they can often be combined surgery and drug and radiation. These two people would consult with the other specialists who you may not actually meet.
So if you want to meet someone for breast cancer diagnosis and treatment, meet the surgeon and oncologist.
  2. oncologist
  3. an oncologist a cancer doctor
  4. A surgeon or oncologist (cancer specialist) may be asked for advice. You will also see a medical oncologist to help you decide if further treatment, such as chemotherapy and / or endocrine (anti-hormone) treatment.
