Breast Cancer?
So I was thinking, why has breast cancer become more prominent nowadays then ever before? One night I was up late and on one of those late night TV secials, there was a doctor who said it is ecause of women's deoderant. Deoderant is now antiperspirant meaning the sweat doesn't come out. He said so if it doean't come out where will it go? SO all the toxins are going instead of out, in.
What do you think about this????

- I think this is rubbish cancer is a cell that grows abnormally
you do not cover your whole body with deoderant so the body is able to perspire naturally.
- First, I doubt very much that it was a doctor who said this. I can't tell if you meant to say TV 'special' or 'serial'; if it was a fictional serial, it was a fictional doctor, not a real one who said this nonsense.
There is no evidence that anti-perspirants cause breast cancer.
Secondly, breast cancer is more 'prominent' because of screening programmes. Many more women are diagnosed with it because of screening. That's why it appears that more women are getting it, and why we hear more about it
- You must have been watching an Infomercial. Pure bunk!
- More women are diagnosed with breast cancer because we have better screening programmes. Equally, women are living for longer because we have improved things like road safety/childbirth etc. Your risk of cancer doubles with every decade, so if you live until 60, rather than dying at 30, you are obviously more likely to develop cancer.
- I am sure that if we believe everything we heard we would never go out of the house and we would go back to eating nothing and using nothing. Everything these days will cause cancer, so they say. I don't for one minute that deodorant will cause cancer, and I am a 14 year beast cancer survivor. The only time I couldn't use my deodorant was during radiation treatment. I think there are doctors or who ever they are that are trying to hard to find an answer to the cancer question. I do think that there are toxins that we eat and breath that can and does cause cancer. We all need to be more reasonable about are health. The reason we are hearing more about breast cancer is that we as women are demanding more of our doctors. We want answers, and the Susan G. Komen foundation is out there putting the word out for early detection. It's a good thing.
